Manny and Clayton’s engagement session was so exciting. In part, it’s because we finally got to shoot an engagement session with puppies. I am a dog mom myself, so I guess I am biased, lol. They were just so cute!
Manny and Clayton met in Hillsboro Beach about three years ago, when Clayton, his family, and friends went to her Aunt and Uncle’s Thanksgiving dinner. They ate some yummy food and talked the night away. From then on, they bonded over many things, especially over their love of dogs and trying new food. Manny said that Clayton pushes her to be a “better version of [herself].” One of the many things he’s encouraged her to do is trying new things like seafood, how fun! As time when on and they started dating, Clayton did anything to get her close. For example, he would take care of her dog so her pup wouldn’t be alone while she was a work. She’d have to pick her up after work to his house, a thirty-five-minute ride. I mean that’s love! I remember when David and I first started talking, he drove back from Georgia to Florida State for a charger!
Since they met at Hillsboro Beach, it’s perfect for us to schedule their session in this location that is so meaningful to them.
Here are some fun facts about our couple: Manny loves Vodka, Tequila, and water (lol), us too. Clayton likes those drinks too, but he prefers to relax with a cold beer. They also bond over country music because the lyrics represent their love for each other. Some of Manny and Clayton’s FAV songs are “Forever’s Gotta Start Somewhere” by Chad Brownlee, “One Man Band” by Old Dominion, “You are the Reason” by Calum Scott, “Speechless” by Dan and Shay, and “Till I Found You” by Phil Wickham.
It was great to see how bringing David’s JBL to the session and playing some of their favorite songs helped reminisce and help them feel at ease during the photo shoot. Isn’t the power of music just amazing? It’s a new thing we’re trying and I think it will still stick.
Now for the proposal story. He took where she used to live in North Carolina before she moved to Florida. She spent so much time in North Carolina but never got to see Asheville. So, he surprised her with a trip there near the mountains. He even made a schedule that they “had to stick to” (totally reminds me of someone I know…aka David). It was a beautiful place filled with flowers and when it was time to pop the question, he got down on one knee and she said yes!!
Without further adieu… Here are the images from the session:
This light is what dreams are made of!!! #goldenhour
During the shoot, they were so easy to work with and recently shared with us about how they felt throughout the experience. Manny said “I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. I had never done a session like this before and Meivys and David truly made us feel so comfortable. The excitement you both had was electric and helped keep us calm and excited the entire time. It was such a great experience!” We’re so glad they were pleased with our work. We may have teared a little bit after reading this!
Ummmm… this ring is everything!!! Great job Clayton!
The location and time of the shoot were really important to us in order to capture the images from the session; Hillsboro’s beach was ideal because the lighting and the outfits made the couple glow. They went from formal to casual attire. It was mostly pastel colors and then the pups were photographed. That’s the best part!!
Ok, how cute is this sign you guys?!?!
The groom and the boy pup, Yeti, were in blue and the bride and the girl pup, Pacey, wore pink. Take a look at the cute bandanas they were wearing. It says “My humans are getting married”!!!
We couldn’t leave the session without popping some bubbly of course!
Thanks for the opportunity to share this day with us because it was a great experience for us as well! Check out some behind the scenes 🙂
XOXO, David + Meivys
