Mama, if Christmas photos are already somewhere on your mental holiday to-do list or sitting pretty on a Pinterest board you started months ago this is for you. 🎄
Holiday minis sessions in Miami are one of my favorite ways to document families because they give you the beautiful Christmas card photos you want without turning family pictures into an entire production.
Fifteen minutes.
A fully styled Christmas set.
Guidance on what to wear.
Ten beautiful digital files (images) of your family during a season that somehow comes and goes faster every single year.
And the best part? You get to actually be in them.
As a mom myself, I know how much of the holidays can quietly fall on us. The gifts. The outfits. The parties. The school events. The cards. The magic.
Christmas photos should not become another thing you have to manage.
So if you are considering booking holiday minis sessions in Miami for 2026, here is everything I would want you to know first.

What Are Holiday Mini Sessions?
A holiday mini session is a shorter version of a traditional family portrait session created specifically for the Christmas season.
Instead of planning an entire one-hour shoot on location, everything has already been thoughtfully designed for you.
You choose your session.
You choose your set.
We help you with what to wear.
Then you arrive and we guide the rest.
Our 2026 Miami Christmas Minis Sessions are 15 minutes and include 10 edited digital images.
And before you think, “Fifteen minutes? With MY children?”
Yes.
Fifteen minutes. 😂
Minis are a great way for little kids because we are not asking them for too much!
We move.
We play.
We get the family portrait Grandma wants, but we also photograph the cuddles, giggles, little personalities and completely unplanned moments that usually become your favorites.
If you are looking for something longer, more customized or involving extended family, a full family session may be a better fit. But for your yearly Christmas card tradition? Holiday Minis are meant to be simple.
Here is a peek at last year’s Holiday Minis:

Meet Our Two 2026 Christmas Minis Session Sets
This year, I wanted our sets to feel completely different from each other.
Not two versions of the same Christmas tree.
Two actual moods.
So whether your Pinterest board says classic Christmas or holiday editorial, there is something for you.
Set One: Classic Christmas With an Equestrian Touch
Think traditional Christmas, but make it MSP.
This set is classic, cozy, light and timeless with subtle equestrian influences.
The feel is nostalgic without becoming dark or overly vintage.
Think beautiful whites and creams, traditional greenery, warm textures and those little equestrian details that give the entire set that elegant country-Christmas feeling. There’s even a nook!
It is the kind of set that works beautifully if you love:
- Creams and whites
- Camel and tan
- Soft blues
- Classic tartan
- Cozy knits
- Velvet
- Riding-inspired details
- Traditional Christmas dresses
- Timeless family styling
Basically, imagine Christmas in the countryside but bright, polished and photographed in our signature light + airy style.
This one is perfect for the family who wants images that feel like Christmas every year without following a trend that will look dated five years from now.

Set Two: The Bellman Holiday Vacation Editorial
And then…we went completely the other direction.
This set is giving:
Christmas vacation.
Fancy hotel lobby.
Editorial holiday campaign.
Mom booked the suite and everyone looks fabulous.
Christmas at the Ritz…
The second 2026 set is inspired by a classic hotel bellman holiday moment, with richer reds, velvet, pearls and a more fashion-forward editorial feeling.
It is playful.
It is polished.
It has personality.
And it is SO different from the traditional Christmas set.
If you have been wanting your annual Christmas photos to feel a little more like an editorial campaign this year or if you’re a brand who wants a whole Christmas campaign, this is the one.
Think beautiful dresses, tailored outfits, velvet, bows, pearls, statement accessories and classic holiday red.
Still family.
Still joyful.
Still completely MSP.
Just with a little more fashion.

Which Christmas Set Should You Choose?
Honestly?
Choose the one that makes you immediately start thinking about outfits. 😂
If you look at the classic equestrian Christmas set and picture your kids in soft knits, tartan and little loafers, there is your answer.
If the Bellman set suddenly has you thinking about a red velvet dress, pearls and your daughter looking like she belongs in a Christmas commercial in NYC…there is your answer.
Our minis are designed around one styled set, which also makes planning outfits much easier.
And if wardrobe is the part that stresses you out, do not worry.
That is literally one of the reasons we send guidance before your session.
We also have a full Christmas Mini Session Outfit Ideas guide on the blog if you want to start gathering inspiration. And also, here is our Amazon favorites for this Holiday Season!
What Should We Wear for Holiday Minis Sessions in Miami?
This is probably the number-one question we get.
And my answer is always:
Please do not feel like you have to figure this out alone.
Your outfits make a huge difference in the final images, especially when the set has already been professionally styled.
That is why we send our booked families outfit inspiration and guidance that works specifically with the set.
You do not need everyone dressed exactly alike.
Actually, please don’t. 😂
Instead, think coordinated.
For the equestrian Christmas set, I would lean toward:
- Ivory
- Cream
- Camel
- Tan
- Slate or soft blue
- Traditional green
- Tartan accents
- Soft Christmas red
- Velvet
- Cable-knit textures
- Classic dresses and tailored pieces
For the Bellman editorial set, you can have a little more fun:
- Red
- Cream
- Black
- Velvet
- Bows
- Pearls
- Beautiful structured dresses
- A tailored blazer
- Classic holiday accessories
- A slightly dressier editorial look
The goal is always for your family to still look like your family.
Not like five people wearing costumes because Pinterest told them to.

“But My Kids Don’t Cooperate for Photos”
Good.
Seriously.
Your kids are not supposed to be professional models.
They are supposed to be kids.
And most little kids do not want to stand in one place and smile because four adults told them to.
They want to play.
We know.
David is usually the one playing with them. 😂
He is giving the high fives, making the jokes, keeping things moving and helping them forget that they are technically at a photoshoot.
We know how to work with toddlers.
We know sometimes they need thirty seconds before they want anything to do with us.
We know one child may be ready immediately while another has decided the world has ended because Mom fixed their collar.
It is okay.
Our goal is not to photograph a perfectly behaved family.
It is to photograph your family.
We guide the posed photograph you want for your Christmas card, but we also leave room for your children to have personalities.
Those are usually the photographs that mean the most later anyway.
And What If My Husband Hates Family Photos?
Tell him I said it is 15 minutes. 😂
That is genuinely one of the benefits of booking a Christmas mini instead of trying to convince your entire family to participate in an hour-long session.
You do not need to know how to pose.
He does not need to know what to do with his hands.
Your kids do not need to know where to stand.
We guide all of it. David is making sure his shirt is tucked in.
There is a beginning, a flow and an end.
Show up.
Love on your family.
Let us handle the rest.

Why Book Your Miami Holiday Photos Early?
Because November Meivys is begging August Meivys to please get things done ahead of time. 😂
And I know I am not the only mom who feels that way.
Right now, Christmas may feel far away.
That is exactly why this is the perfect time to book.
When you book your holiday mini sessions in Miami early, you have time to:
- Choose a session date that actually works for your family
- Slowly plan everyone’s outfits
- Order something if you need it without paying for overnight shipping
- Complete your session early enough for Christmas cards
- Order prints for grandparents
- Create Christmas gifts
- Actually enjoy the experience
Wait until November and suddenly Christmas photos are competing with Thanksgiving, school events, parties, gifts, travel, decorating and everything else.
We have learned this lesson ourselves.
We have taken our own family Christmas photos since 2012.
One year we were so busy photographing everyone else’s Christmas sessions that we skipped our own.
We did not know it would be our last Christmas with our puppy Kelvin.
That photo does not exist.
Another year, we waited so long that we could not find availability with a South Florida photographer whose style we loved and ended up driving all the way to Orlando for our family pictures.
So when I say book early, I am not saying it because I am a photographer trying to fill a calendar.
I am saying it because I am a mom who has made the exact same mistake.
Book the date.
Figure out the little details later.

When Should You Schedule Christmas Photos If You Want Holiday Cards?
If Christmas cards are important to you, I would always choose an October or early November session when possible.
That gives you room for:
session → gallery → card design → ordering → shipping → addressing → mailing.
Because somehow addressing fifty envelopes always takes approximately fourteen times longer than you think it will. 😂
Earlier sessions also mean your images are not only for Christmas cards.
You can actually use them throughout the season.
Post them.
Print them.
Frame them.
Give them to grandparents.
Put one in a gift for your parents.
Use them in your home.
Enjoy them while it is still Christmas.
That is a much different experience than receiving your photographs when everyone has already mentally moved on to New Year’s.
Testimonials
“It was our first time ever taking Christmas portraits as a family and M+D made us feel so at ease! It was a wonderful, fun and stress free experience for all 3 of us”
They made us feel so welcomed and right at home during our Christmas mini session. From the cozy set up, to the music vibes to nonetheless, the engagement and patience they had with my little one. We were having a hard time with my little one smiling and feeling shy and a few seconds into the session Meivys and David were putting different kid music and bringing out toys for her to feel comfortable and sure enough she started smiling and feeling more comfortable during our session.
I can’t express enough how thrilled I am with the incredible experience I’ve had with MSP. From start to finish, every interaction has been nothing short of exceptional.
Our first experience exceeded my expectations with how welcoming we felt and the way they took the time to make our baby smile and being able to capture him smiling . David & Meivys are genuinely kind and pleasant people, aside from their talented work this is why I chose them and will keep them as our family photographers . All around high quality portraits and service . You couldn’t choose a better photographer !
New for 2026: Turn Your Christmas Photos Into Something You Can Hold
This is one of the things I am MOST excited about this year.
We love digital images.
Obviously.
But I do not want the photograph of your four-year-old at Christmas to live forever inside a downloads folder called:
Christmas-Minis-FINAL-FINAL-2.
😂
This year, our Christmas Mini families will also have the opportunity to upgrade their experience with professional prints and albums.
We will have physical samples available for you to see and touch on select session days because products feel completely different when you can actually hold them in your hands.
And we will be offering a special session-day rate on select artwork.
After your gallery is delivered, you will also have access to print and album options directly through your online gallery, so you can decide which photographs you want to turn into something tangible.
Think:
- A small album of your family’s Christmas tradition
- Prints for your home
- Gifts for grandparents
- Photographs your children can physically hold years from now
- A yearly collection that grows as your family grows
One Christmas album is beautiful.
Ten Christmas albums sitting together on a shelf?
That is your children growing up in front of you.
That is the part that gets me.

Why We Photograph Christmas in a Light + Airy Style
Miami gives us sunshine, palms and December days that sometimes feel suspiciously like July. 😂
But that does not mean your Christmas photographs cannot feel nostalgic and magical.
Our photography style has always been light, airy, joyful and true to color.
Even when we use traditional Christmas red, greenery, velvet or richer textures, we want your family’s faces and connection to be the focus.
I want you to pull these photographs out ten years from now and still love them.
Not because the set was trendy.
Because that was your baby at that age.
That was your daughter’s smile.
That was the way your son still fit perfectly in your arms.
If you want to see more of the way we photograph families throughout the year, visit our Light and Airy Miami Family Photographer guide and family portfolio.
Are Holiday Mini Sessions Only for Traditional Family Christmas Photos?
Not at all.
Over the years we have photographed Christmas minis for:
- Families
- Couples
- Pregnancy announcements
- Maternity portraits
- Babies celebrating their first Christmas
- Families with toddlers
- Older children
- Moms with their kids
- Parents with grandparents
- Christmas card portraits
- Matching pajama moments
- Dressy editorial holiday looks
The set may be the same, but the family never is.
That is why no two galleries feel exactly alike.
When Is a Mini Session NOT the Right Fit?
This is important.
Mini sessions are amazing, but they are intentionally short and structured.
A holiday mini may not be the right session if:
- You want extended family photographed together
- You have a very large family
- You want multiple outfits
- You want both holiday concepts photographed extensively
- You want a completely custom creative direction
- You want multiple family combinations
- You want a slower experience with significantly more variety
- You are primarily looking for artwork or a full heirloom experience
In that case, I would recommend one of our full studio sessions instead.
We can take more time, build the session around your vision and create something specifically for your family.
If you are dreaming about Christmas photos at home instead of in a styled studio, we also have a guide to In-Home Christmas Family Photos in South Florida and Miami that you may love.

How Do You Choose a Holiday Mini Session Photographer in Miami?

There are SO many talented photographers in South Florida.
Before booking anyone, I would ask yourself:
Do I actually love their photography style?
Because Christmas sets change every year.
The photographer’s style should not.
Look through full galleries and past work.
Make sure their skin tones, lighting and editing are consistent.
Then ask:
Do I trust them with my kids?
Especially if you have toddlers.
A beautiful set means very little if the person photographing your family cannot make everyone feel comfortable.
Will they guide me?
You should know whether styling help is included, how long the session is, how many images you receive and what happens afterward.
Do their photographs feel like the way I want to remember my family?
That one matters the most.
We have photographed families for more than a decade, and one of my favorite parts of what we do is watching the same families come back year after year.
The babies become toddlers.
Toddlers become big kids.
Families grow.
And suddenly Christmas photos are not just something you did once.
They are part of your family’s story.
Frequently Asked Questions About Holiday Mini Sessions in Miami

How long are your 2026 Miami Christmas Mini Sessions?
Our Christmas Mini Sessions are 15 minutes.
They are intentionally short, fun and efficiently guided, which makes them especially great for families with younger children.
How many photographs are included?
Our standard 2026 Christmas Mini includes 10 professionally edited digital images. But you can upgrade to all the images and to physical prints and albums.
Do you help us choose outfits?
Absolutely.
Styling guidance is part of the experience, and we share inspiration to help you coordinate your family with your chosen set.
For even more ideas, visit our Christmas Mini Session Outfit Ideas blog.
How many Christmas sets are available in 2026?
We have two set concepts this year:
- A classic, light Christmas set with an equestrian influence.
- A Bellman-inspired holiday vacation editorial with reds, velvet and pearls.
Can my toddler do a 15-minute session?
YES.
Honestly, we often prefer a shorter session for little kids because we can play, photograph and keep the experience moving before they completely lose interest.
We do not expect toddlers to sit still and smile on command. The key is to make sure you are also interactive – holding them, playing with them, etc.
Can I order prints from my Christmas Mini Session?
Yes. We have always had an online store you can shop from, but….
New for 2026, families will have the option to purchase professional prints and albums on the day of the sessions.
We will have samples available to view on select session days, including special session-day pricing, and product options will also be available through your online gallery.
Are holiday mini sessions good for Christmas cards?
They are perfect for them.
If physical Christmas cards are a priority, we recommend choosing an earlier session so you have enough time to receive your images, design your cards, order them and get them in the mail without rushing.
Can grandparents or extended family join?
Holiday minis are primarily designed for immediate families because of the short session time and styled set.
If you want grandparents, multiple households or a larger extended-family experience, reach out to us so we can recommend a better session option.
Where can I book your 2026 holiday mini sessions?
Current dates, set availability and booking information are available through our Miami Christmas Mini Sessions booking page.
