Baby Suarez's Cozy, Feminine & Modern Nursery

We had so many ideas for our daughter’s nursery, but we finally made our design decisions based on what we wanted her to feel when she was in her nursery: loved and cozy, a place that encouraged playing and learning, and a modern minimal space that would match our home’s aesthetic, so here’s the big reveal!

Hi, we’re David and Meivys, a husband and wife photography team (and new parents!) based in South Florida. We photograph weddings, portraits, and brands. We share all about life, marriage, and business over at @suarezpartyoftwo. Welcome and we can’t wait to connect with you!

We wanted her room to be feminine, but still neutral so that the furniture and textures could grow with her as we update her room so we selected a color palette: white, grey, blush, gold, and a touch of pink here and there. We also wanted the space to be safe and to provide opportunities for playing and learning, so we added an exposed closet, a rug and lots of books, both in Spanish and English.

As some of you may know, our puppy passed away when I was 6 months pregnant with baby, so we wanted to do a tribute to him. We got a replica stuffed animal from Petsies and made sure to include a photo of him so that baby would always know him and we can share stories about how amazing he was.

One of my favorite spots in her room is her exposed closet. I am very girly and love to dress up, so I wanted a section for her to have access to her clothes, shoes and accessories. In addition to that, we have a ton of bows, stocking, and cute onesies for her – they were neatly organized into her dresser. On top of the dresser we placed a mirror and one of the best purchases we have made – an easy-clean changer from Skip-Hop (it cleans with a simple wipe!)
